How to use this tool
1. Paste WordPress Sitemap or Fetch URL
Enter your WordPress sitemap index URL (e.g. yoursite.com/sitemap_index.xml or /wp-sitemap.xml) or paste raw XML.

WordPress sitemap indexes subdivide indexable content by post type and taxonomy (e.g. `post-sitemap.xml`, `page-sitemap.xml`, `product-sitemap.xml`, `category-sitemap.xml`).

Where is the default WordPress XML sitemap located?
Since WordPress 5.5, WordPress automatically generates a native core sitemap at `/wp-sitemap.xml`. If you use Yoast SEO or Rank Math, they disable the core sitemap and create their own enhanced sitemap at `/sitemap_index.xml`.
Should category and tag archives be included in the sitemap?
Unless your category pages have custom, high-value editorial content, it is generally recommended to exclude tag archives and minor taxonomies from your sitemap to prevent crawl budget waste on thin, duplicate archive pages.
How does WooCommerce handle product sitemaps?
WooCommerce products are stored as a Custom Post Type (`product`). Yoast WooCommerce SEO and Rank Math generate dedicated `product-sitemap.xml` and `product_cat-sitemap.xml` files for seamless indexing.
